Legend
It is believed that during the period of Lord Ayyappa, when Ayyappan was affected by poison on account of the conspiracy of the Manthri of the King Rajashekhara in the Pandalam Kottaram, Lord Shiva came as Vaidyanatha Murthy and cured all the illness of Ayyappa Swamy due to poison.
